Hello!I'm Beth, a Secondary school Art and Photography teacher, Mum of two crazy boys, owner of a limpy black lab, wife to a grumpy husband...and Yoga teacher.
Yoga came into my life in 2014, when I was having a particularly stressful time at work, alongside starting a family, and I found it all a bit much. I knew Yoga was supposed to be good for stressed out, busy people, and it also appealed to me as a form of physical movement. So I went along to try my first class, a Vinyasa flow class, and loved it! From then on, I was hooked. Don't get me wrong, the amount of Downward dogs we did in that first class was intense, but being able to switch off from the mind chatter and focus on the movement was so good. And those first few Savasanas, wow! Since then, I attended yoga classes every week and found my body getting stronger and my mind more settled. I wasn't getting as stressed and worked up about things and was able to handle stressful situations at work with a lot more clarity. It was Summer 2020 that I took the next leap in my Yoga journey and trained as a Teen Yoga Instructor, so that I was qualified to teach Yoga to the students at my school. I knew what great things Yoga had done for me and really wanted to share it with the students, who appeared to be getting more and more stressed out each time exam season rolled around. The Teen Yoga training was a revelation and opened up a thirst for so much more Yoga knowledge. I was desperate to know more, so I signed up to complete my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Universal Yoga to enable me to become a fully qualified Yoga Teacher. I'm excited and of course daunted having now qualified as a Yoga teacher. An eternal sufferer of "Imposter Syndrome", I will ways question if I really know enough to be teaching others about Yoga. But what I do know, is that I want to share the type of Yoga that really helped me, in my stressful, busy, family life. I want to share how it helped to calm my mind, strengthen my body and pass on those benefits to others. Warm wishes,
